Child Development
The Children’s Collective, Inc.’s, largest and oldest program, Child Development, provides free to low-cost childcare services for families in South Los Angeles. Annually, the program serves about 800 low-income African American and Hispanic children at ten locations.
The Child Development program promotes school readiness and confidence for children from three months to five years of age. TCCI promotes development of early learners by providing children with daily, nutritious meals, exposure to multicultural environments, and instruction delivered by nurturing, state certified teachers dedicated to early learning. The program’s goal is to facilitate the development of creative thinkers, problem solvers, self-confident and independent beings who will grow up to be caring, happy, and productive adults.
In 2022, TCCI began a partnership with Baldwin Park Unified School District to incorporate an Early Head Start program at our Rita D. Walters Child Care Center. This partnership enhances the quality of childcare for infants and toddlers by integrating additional resources and comprehensive services.
